Pets are Family

Pets are family

At Pets in the City, we regularly get requests for adoption of pets. From adoptees as well as adopters Although it is in everyone’s interest that a pet is matched with the perfect parent and finds it’s forever home it often leaves one to ‘guess’ or ‘assess’ to the best of one’s ability how a prospective parent might turn out to be.

Who doesn’t want a warm loving fuzz ball to greet us when we return home after a gruelling day’s work? Or who wouldn’t smile at the love between a child and her first pet. But, are these reasons enough to bring home a pet? Shouldn’t one first understand the responsibilities, the commitment involved?

Things to consider
A pet will require around the clock care. Feeding, grooming, playing, hygiene and toilet care. An animal can easily fall sick if any of these daily tasks are neglected.

Regular vet checkups and Dubai Municipality requirements and regulations should be understood and abided to.

Landlord and/or community laws should be reviewed carefully to avoid any unnecessary extreme actions being taken by malicious or unhappy neighbours.

Expenses should be pre-calculated with margins for an increase, in the event of sickness or emergency.

Relocation expenses should be previewed and assessed as a pet becomes a family member once you bring them home and should not be abandoned when one relocates.

Conclusion
We at Pets in the City offer to board for pets while their parents are on vacation as well as daily daycare. We’ve seen the separation anxiety pets go through as their owners walk out the door. Although the dogs enjoy their stay-cation with Pets in the City the longing they have for their parent is comparable to none.
